Some instrumental albums you have never heard of but should

Departure Songs is the fifth LP and first double album by American ambient/post-rock band Hammock. It was released on October 2, 2012 by the band’s own label, Hammock Music.

Matt Gilley at Fluid Radio posits that the album is “probably the closest thing to an ambient/post-rock opera anyone has ever written, and if anyone is ever going to write one, it’ll probably be Hammock. Ned Raggett noted in his review for AllMusic that “if Hammock’s fifth album is something of an extension and consolidation of their past work… it’s also a flat-out triumphant one.

Personal opinion : captivating relaxing music that could be a not bad soundtrack for a film.

I also like instrumental outtakes from this album.

Roberto cacciapaglia – Canone degli spazi (2009)

Cacciapaglia is a prominent figure on the more innovative Italian music scene and a point of reference in Italy and abroad, for his musical research between classical and experimental electronic and direction towards music without borders that goes beyond divisions.
For some time, he was involved in studying sacred music and dance, and for a number of years he has conducted a research effort that studies the powers of sound. His music draws inspiration from these experiences and passes through emotions rather than through traditional rules and structure.
Personal opinion: one of the best modern pianists and composers, his music sounds contemporary and classical at the same time.

ARNO – AquaPhonia (2003)

R-2700527-1365245785-7219

Genre: Electronic

Style: New Age, Ambient

Originally this album was released on Innovative Communication in 1997. In 2003 it was reissued under “Wasser Symphonien Zur Entspannung – Water Symphonies For Relaxation” title on Da Music.
Personal opinion: I can call this album a “rare” album, one of the best electronic recordings I have ever heard. A very atmosphere and relaxing music.
